The HD81 features Texas Instruments’ DarkChip3 DMD DLP technology, which provides motion adaptive 480i, 576i, and 1080i de-interlacing as well as advanced noise reduction and sharpening.

The Optoma HD81 also boasts a contrast ratio of 10000:1, with a 1400 lumen brightness, making it one of Optoma’s brightest projectors. At 32 dB, the HD81 is louder than Optoma’s 720P projectors. The HD81 connects via HDMI, D-Sub 15pin, S-Video, Composite, and Component inputs as well as an RS-232 connection. Available September 2006, the Optoma HD81 retails at $9200.
