The Mitsubishi HC5500 is a fully High Definition LCD Projector, capable of projecting an image of 1920x1080 resolution. Replacing the HC4900 as Mitsubishi's entry-level 1080p projector, the HC5500 features a bevy of notable improvements.

Nearly all specifications have been upgraded, with the lens shift and zoom featuring downgrades. This LCD Projector was designed with the home theatre in mind, and is 24P compatible and also features a 15000:1 contrast ratio. The HC5500 also boasts a 1200 ANSI lumen brightness and a lamp life of 5000 hours. This projector features Mini D-Sub 15pin, HDMI, Component, Composite, and S-video connections, as well as a D-Sub 9pin input for RS-232C support. Available June 2008, the Mitsubishi HC5500 retails at $2500.
