It hosts a 1280x800 LCD engine and comes with a bevy of inputs, including RJ-45 (Ethernet), S-Video and composite video, a DB-15 that works with analog PC and component video signals, a DVI interface that’s compatible with DVI-to-HDMI cables, and three audio inputs.

There is however no USB, which means no PC remote mouse control. Signature to the LV-8300 is its ultra-high 3,000 Lumens brightness level, which critics note is better than both the Editor’s Choice NEC VT800 XGA and Epson EX70 WXGA projectors. Critics also noted that the Canon LV-8300 provides strong 480p signals, making it good for watching DVDs. Results for 480i signals, however, received a score of only 44 out of a possible 140.
